Published on the occasion of the Jewish Museum exhibition charting Halpert's career as a dealer and her personal collection, Shaykin's book on Halpert is an accessible guide with beautiful illustrations of artwork by William Michael Harnett, Jacob Lawrence and Arthur Dove (to name but a few). For those interested in Halpert I recommend Lindsay Pollock's wonderful Edith Halpert: The Girl With The Gallery (2006) and the Archives of American Art where Halpert's gallery records are kept.
